The CommissionThe Well Contractors Certification Commission was established by the North Carolina General Assembly in 1997. The enabling legislation established a seven member Commission. Members of the Commission must meet the following qualifications: • 2 members are Environmental Health Professionals, actively engaged in well inspection and permitting. • 1 member is appointed by the Governor from the Public at Large. • 4 members are certified well contractors from designated areas of the State. (2 of which are engaged primarily with domestic water supply wells, 1 with large capacity water supply wells, and 1 with non-water supply wells, such as monitoring or recovery wells.)
